Would Rent Again
Felt Safe
Lease Duration: 2024-2025
"If you are considering renting from this landlord please do yourself a favor and sprint in the opposite direction. I would not wish this experience on my worst enemy. I would rather live in a tent during hurricane season than deal with this man again. Let me paint you a picture. We signed the lease after being told the plumbing issues were taken care of. Amazing right. Wrong. Our very first week we were greeted by a flooded basement filled with three to five inches of actual sewage. Yes you read that correctly. Our brand new basement turned into a swimming pool of piss and shit because the main pipe was never even connected to the city sewage system. It was just dumping underground until it finally burst through like Old Faithful but worse. Much worse. Then we had the bathrooms. Mold was literally painted over because the windows were painted shut and there was no bathroom vent. Every week we were going through shower curtains like we were running a curtain resale business. When we brought it up the landlord basically told us it was our problem which is funny because the only problem we had was him. The basement stairs were the next circus act. They were so steep and uneven every step felt like a different difficulty level in a video game. People were falling left and right and one person even dislocated a shoulder. The stairs alone should have had this man investigated. My bedroom window had a missing pane when I moved in which meant every gust of hot or cold air was basically an invited guest. When I asked for it to be fixed he told me it was my responsibility. My responsibility for a window that I never broke. Incredible logic. He would send landscapers at random times and then send us nasty and unprofessional messages claiming they could not do their job because of a couple chairs outside. Communication apparently does not exist in his world. If he told us ahead of time we would have made sure everything was ready but no he just preferred passive aggressive texts. Now the handymen. I do not know where he found these people but they would show up for hours smoking drinking and casually carrying guns while doing repairs that never actually repaired anything. I wish I was exaggerating. When we moved in the house came with a table three couches a tv stand and other furniture we did not want plus a broken down pool table in the basement. We asked him repeatedly to remove the pool table when we signed the lease. Instead he sent people to the house when no one was home and they threw out all of our furniture that we bought and left the pool table. The only thing that actually needed to be thrown out stayed. When we reached out he told us to check Goodwill. As if losing our furniture was a minor inconvenience like losing a sock. Then the bathtub broke and leaked into the basement because it was ancient. Even the plumber told us it was just old. The landlord still sent us the bill like it was our fault that his prehistoric tub finally gave out. And the grand finale. When we moved out he sent a crew to rip apart the entire kitchen and then tried blaming us for the damages they caused to the counters and appliances like the dishwasher and stove all so he could keep our security deposit. I have never seen such creativity in avoiding accountability. If this man has any kind of license I hope someone checks on it. I hope someone checks twice. If you value your health your peace of mind your wallet or your need to not take Advil every single day please avoid this landlord at all costs. I would rather wrestle an alligator than ever rent from him again. Save yourself the headache and the trauma. This landlord is a walking red flag wearing a landlord costume. "
