"I love living at 3 Mather and hope to live here again next year. "

"I love my apartment and the location. I’m close to everything, which makes it really convenient. The landlord’s office is also located on the first floor, so if I ever need assistance and can’t reach maintenance right away, I can easily stop in and talk to someone. It’s been a very positive living experience. "

"GOD AWFUL landlord. DO NOT RENT! The property manager “forgot to pay the NYSEG” (of which is Included In My Rent) and my power was shut off for THREE DAYS. no rent reduction or anything, they made up for it by coming by when i wasnt there, taking all of the food from the (still unpowered) fridge, and leaving a $50 price chopper gift card. Additionally, i had 2 major plumbing issues! 1st a valve on the toilet above was leaking grey water through the drywall all around the bathroom, repair guy (who when asked couldnt give more than 20 minutes notice to arrive at a property) left an industrial fan that was FULL OF DEAD GNATS. ALL OVER MY BATHROOM. less than a month later the plumbing in the unit above breaks AGAIN but this time its the hot water for the sink so my ceiling is SWEATING HOT WATER. repair guy comes back, dries the ceiling, spackles, takes the fan, and i never see him again. He never came back to sand or re-paint the spackle. terrible apartment. the only reason i didnt get fucked over with the security deposit btw was because at a binghamton housing fair i spun a wheel and got “free security deposit!” which in all honesty shouldve been a sign but oh well. ALSO they ask for security deposit + last months rent upfront and thats Not Legal they cant ask for the last months rent upfront "

"Absolutely rude. Refuses to actually repair and clean the apartment and then takes your security deposit to “repair” things that he said you broke but were already broken. "

"This guy was a generational gaslighter. Acted like he was HIM but would despawn everytime we had an issue. Bro lied like your boy who says he’s “five minutes away”. "

"House was in poor shape overall. Lots of things that needed repair, especially the heat. Two of the bedrooms get zero heat to the point you see your breath in the morning. We would put maintenance requests in and they simply ignored them. Jim Slocum is extremely unresponsive, has horrible communication, and does not care about renters needs. "

"The property itself is nice, but other than the front and back doors not closing some of the time. The reason I wouldn't rent is again is the landlord and property managers. Here's context: they've been unable to provide promises like utilities and benefits in said time. I wouldn't mind too much if they were apologetic because I understand that things happen. It's honestly strange how they don't say sorry for things and will make their tenants feel at fault. I hope they see these reviews and change for the better because they have so much potential. If you read the lease through 100% and you're fine with the conditions, it would be okay. I guess just a lot of unexpected surprises if you're unfamiliar with how leasing can be. "

"There was a period of 3 days where the building owner didnt pay their nyseg bill (all utilities included in rent!) and all electricity was shut off in the building for 2 days. There was an issue with my unit in particular and it took an extra full day until power was restored. Their “apology” was going around and emptying out peoples fridges (regardless if they were there or not) and paying $50 to cover lost food (not sufficient for a 2 bedroom flat!!) Additionally, they asked for the last months rent upfront (illegal in NYS) and despite HAVING A MAILBOX MUDROOM the postal workers are not given access to the front! the front door is keyfob activated and the door that is SUPPOSED to lead into the building doesnt lock, latch, or fully close! Their plumbers/maintenance would not give a heads-up before coming over and SPEAKING OF PLUMBING there was an instance in which a valve broke in the bathroom unit above mine, leaking grey murky water all over my bathroom. it took 4 days for a plumber to address the issue and once they were done they provided us with a fan to dry the drywall. this fan was full of dead gnats that COVERED our bathroom. it took them three weeks and ANOTHER PLUMBING FAILURE to come back and finish the job! the SAME bathroom above me experienced a leak in their hot water, causing my entire ceiling to “sweat” and once they fixed that, they spackled over the myriad of cracks and mold on the ceiling and never came back to repaint it.
